I started out as an enthusiastic amateur many years ago, taking pictures as a hobby and by 1990 got so involved that I turned professional. Children were the first subjects and from these I moved on to Barmitzvahs, Batmitzvahs, Weddings, Social Functions, Charity and Commercial work. I started teaching photography in 2004 to mixed level students where 'posing' and 'lighting' are top of the agenda.

My approach is extremely relaxed. Too often I hear stories of the bride in tears from an overbearing photographer. Young children are a challenge to work with as their attention span is so short, on occasions only seconds, that its crucial that everything is prepared beforehand. The key to getting the best photos are to praise and compliment and never to be negative.

With a mix of traditional reportage and a casual, non obtrusive approach, clients receive a complete album telling the whole story of the day.

On the commercial side, I have produced portfolios for a number of different businesses, examples of which can be seen on this website and at www.jamie.uk.com
